Job summary

Stamford Public Schools is seeking a School Based After School Tutor to provide small-group tutoring in English, Math, Science and Social Studies after the school day at Westhill High School. Qualified candidates hold a CT 7-12 teaching certificate, demonstrate excellence in teaching, and are passionate about meeting diverse student needs through differentiated instruction.

Current Secondary Connecticut Teaching Certificate (7-12) in English, Math, Social Studies or Science.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching
Passionate about working with students
Demonstrated expertise in differentiated instruction and meeting individual needs.

Responsibilities

To tutor students in academic subject areas.
To work with the program administrator.
Contact the classroom teacher about student progress and assistance when necessary.
Demonstrated experience in working with the targeted population of high school aged students.
Ability to work after the school day.
Proven ability to build relationships across a broad range of people.
Strong communication skills verbally and written.
Strong organizational skills, the ability to assist students in meet reporting deadlines.
