Job summary

Stamford Public Schools seeks an engaging School Based After School Tutor to provide after-school academic assistance in English, Math, Science, and Social Studies. The tutor will conduct small-group sessions and coordinate with the program administrator to monitor student progress.

The role requires a Current Secondary Connecticut Teaching Certificate (7-12) and a passion for helping high school students succeed, including those from diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications

Current Secondary Connecticut Teaching Certificate (7-12) in English, Math, Social Studies or Science.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
Passionate about working with students.
Demonstrated expertise in differentiated instruction and meeting individual needs.

Responsibilities

To tutor students in English, Math, Science and Social Studies.
To work with the program administrator.
Contact the classroom teacher about student progress and assistance when necessary.
Demonstrated experience in working with high school aged students and diverse populations.
Ability to work after the school day.
Proven ability to build relationships across a broad range of people.
Strong communication skills verbally and written.
Strong organizational skills, the ability to assist students in meet reporting deadlines.
