Job summary

The Child Center of NY is seeking a Group Leader for after-school programs in NYC. You will set goals for participants, facilitate activities, and prepare curriculum and lesson plans, while maintaining a safe and engaging learning environment.

Schedule is Monday to Friday, 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. A High School Diploma or GED, plus content-specific experience and comfort with Microsoft Office, are required. Experience working with children is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Content-specific experience in sports, arts, literacy, etc.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Experience working with children.
• Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently.
• Ability to prioritize, adhere to timelines and multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Provide homework help, supervise activities and participate after school hours.
• Supervise and monitor children; take daily attendance.
• Assist tutors and activity specialists with behavior documentation.
• Maintain program supplies.
• Assist with data collection and participant documentation.
• Attend program meetings.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
