Job summary

The Greater Susquehanna Valley YMCA is seeking an After School Teacher to join our Early Learning team. We believe children learn best through play, exploration, meaningful relationships, and hands-on experiences in a safe, nurturing environment.

Responsibilities include planning developmentally appropriate lessons, creating engaging play-based activities, and fostering strong relationships with families and colleagues while ensuring compliance with PA licensing regulations.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field; CDA considered for qualified candidates.
• Experience working with infant and toddler-aged children.
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices and positive behavior guidance.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons using Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies GOLD.
• Create engaging, play-based learning experiences that encourage curiosity and exploration.
• Foster positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
• Observe and assess children's development to individualize learning.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom.
• Ensure compliance with PA licensing regulations and YMCA policies.
