Job summary

Greater Susquehanna Valley YMCA is seeking an After School Teacher to join our Early Learning team. Join a safe, nurturing environment where children learn through play, exploration, and hands-on experiences.

You will plan engaging activities, assess development, and collaborate with families and staff to support social, emotional, physical, and academic growth. Preferred candidates hold an Associate's or Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education (CDA considered) and have experience with

Qualifications

• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Experience with infant and toddler-aged children is preferred.
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices and positive behavior guidance.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons using Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies GOLD.
• Create engaging, play-based learning experiences that encourage curiosity and exploration.
• Foster positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
• Observe and assess children's development to individualize learning.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom.
• Ensure compliance with PA licensing regulations and YMCA policies.
