Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health in Currituck, NC is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to help individuals with IDD complete daily living tasks and reach their goals.

This part-time role offers after-school/afternoon hours, travel within local areas, and compensation of $15.00 per hour. You will provide in-home and community-based care, assist with housekeeping, meals, personal care, documentation in the EHR, and client scheduling.

Qualifications

• Entry-level role with on-the-job training provided.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic housekeeping, basic nutrition, and safety knowledge.
• Strong communication and dependability are essential.
• Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance.
• Experience with EHR systems or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in clients' homes and communities.
• Assist with daily tasks including housekeeping, meal prep, personal care, and transportation.
• Plan and coordinate client schedules.
• Document and report in the electronic health record.
• Support clients with employment-related tasks when appropriate.
