YMCA of Coastal Carolina is seeking an After School Counselor in Pawleys Island to create a fun, safe, and engaging environment where children can learn, grow and thrive. This role is ideal for students and anyone passionate about a positive community impact through afterschool programming.

You will lead activities, supervise children, support homework, and collaborate with families and staff to promote growth and safety.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Meets educational and experience qualifications established by state law.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and assigned child safety trainings.
• Previous experience working with children preferred.
• Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, engaging activities that support youth development and learning.
• Provide a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all participants.
• Supervise children and support homework, behavior development, and social growth.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow staff.
• Maintain program records, supplies, and activity spaces.
• Participate in trainings, meetings, and YMCA events while supporting the YMCA mission and values.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
