Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Montgomery is seeking a part-time Counselor for the Goodtimes program to supervise and engage children after school, under the direction of the Site Director. You will help plan daily activities, supervise groups, and maintain a professional attitude aligned with YMCA values.

Responsibilities include ensuring safety, building positive relationships with families and staff, completing required documentation, attending trainings, and assisting with site maintenance.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 17 years old.
• Willing to fulfill counselor responsibilities in line with YMCA philosophy and goals.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing the daily program under the Site Director.
• Supervise and interact with a group of children maintaining a professional attitude and YMCA loyalty.
• Plan, implement and participate in activities including lessons, sports, games, crafts, etc.
• Ensure safety of program participants at all times.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents, participants and staff.
• Attend mandatory staff meetings and trainings and complete required program documentation.
