Job summary

LIFT Enrichment is hiring an After-School Cooking Instructor / Chef Teacher to lead hands-on workshops for students in Title I schools in Hawthorne/Inglewood, CA. You’ll teach two workshops per day in the after-school window, with preparation and cleanup included in paid time.

Training is provided and mileage reimbursement plus a phone stipend are included. The role is seasonal, part-time, 2:30–5:30 pm, Monday–Friday (2–3 days per week).

Qualifications

• Experience in teaching or youth programs preferred.
• Ability to engage elementary to middle school students.

Responsibilities

• Lead groups of 15–20 students (K-8) through hands-on cooking activities.
• Teach healthy recipes using provided curriculum.

After-School Cooking Instructor / Chef Teacher

LIFT Enrichment is looking for enthusiastic Chef Teachers to lead fun, hands-on cooking workshops for students in Title I schools.

Since 2010, we’ve taught 75,000+ students and built a team of 200+ Chef Teachers. No professional chef experience required — we provide training!

The Details:

• Rate: $28/hour


• Schedule: Mondays - Fridays (2-3 days per week) ; 2:30- 5:30 pm


• Age Groups: Elementary School


• Location: Hawthorne USD & Inglewood USD


• Position: Seasonal, part-time


• Paid training + mileage reimbursement + phone stipend


• Grocery shopping, prep, teaching, and cleanup are paid

A typical day includes teaching two workshops, you will be paid for approximately 5 hours of work which covers preparation, teaching, and cleanup.

What We’ll Provide

• Fun and detailed curriculum for you to follow - access to our cookbooks and fun recipes.


• Paid training 10-15 hours over the course of 2 weeks.


• Mileage reimbursement from your home to the school and back


• Prompt reimbursement for grocery shopping


• Time tracking through our clock in and clock out system so you’re fairly paid for all your work

What You’ll Do

• Lead groups of 15–20 students (K-8th grade) through hands-on cooking activities.


• Teach fun, healthy recipes using our provided curriculum.


• Introduce kids to basic cooking, nutrition, and kitchen safety.


• Keep students engaged, excited, and involved.


• Manage setup, cooking, and cleanup.


• Grocery shop and prep ingredients as needed.


• Transport program supplies to the school.
