Job summary

Sticky Fingers Cooking NOVA LLC is seeking part-time Chef Instructors to lead hands-on cooking classes for kids in Northern Virginia. You will teach cooking skills, nutrition, and healthy habits while fostering curiosity and confidence in young learners.

Ideal candidates have experience with children, are CPR & First Aid certified, and can work weekdays between 12:30 PM and 6 PM. Training and tools are provided, with classes year-round.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children is required.
• CPR & First Aid certification is required.

Please note: At this time, we are only hiring candidates who reside in Northern Virginia. Candidates in DC and Maryland will not be considered.

What You’ll Do

• Lead Hands‑On Cooking Classes: Guide kids as they chop, mix, measure, and explore global recipes.
• Spark Curiosity: Introduce new ingredients, cultures, and cooking techniques.
• Stay Organized: Prep for classes using our curriculum, shop for ingredients, and set up safe mini‑kitchens.
• Be the Magic: Encourage confidence, creativity, and independence in every young chef.

Who You Are

• A Virginia resident, ideally near Bluemount, VA 20135
  (We cannot accept DC or MD applicants at this time.)

• Experienced working with children - this is required for the role.

• Must be CPR & First Aid Certified

• Punctual, reliable, and confident managing groups of 8–12 kids.
  Must arrive 15-20 minutes before class (varies by school).

• Able to commit to 6–12 week sessions.

• Have or willing to obtain a ServSafe Food Handler Certification.

• Able to lift up to 30 lbs and transport teaching materials.

• Must have a reliable car, a valid drivers license and be able to drive to school locations.

• Must pass state & FBI background checks.

A Day in the Life

As a Sticky Fingers Cooking Instructor, you'll travel to schools around Northern Virginia to bring "the kitchen" to kids! Using our tried‑and‑true recipes, you'll teach essential cooking skills, food safety, and the cultural stories behind each dish - all while building creativity and confidence. Kids will have a blast... and so will you!
