Job summary

Silver Knights Chess Academy in Maryland is seeking an After School Teacher to help elementary students learn chess after school. You will teach using our curriculum in a small-group setting and receive thorough, paid training.

The role requires availability on at least 3 weekdays from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm, a reliable vehicle, and the ability to lift teaching equipment. Pay starts at $55 per hour, with opportunities to grow as you gain experience.

Qualifications

• Must be available at least 3 weekdays during the school year between 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm.
• Have a reliable vehicle for transportation.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs of teaching equipment.
• Ability to learn and use new software tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage a classroom of 10-20 students.
• Use our curriculum to demonstrate and communicate basic chess rules and strategy.
• Promote good sportsmanship among students.
• Store and maintain all teaching equipment and materials.
• Supervise parent pickup.
