Job summary

Holy Spirit School in San Jose, California is seeking a dependable Extended Care Assistant to support our before- and after-school program for TK–8th grade. The role provides a safe, structured, and engaging environment in line with Catholic values, outside regular school hours.

Responsibilities include supervising students, assisting with homework and enrichment activities, preparing snacks, keeping attendance, and communicating with families and staff under the Principal and Extended Care

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Course credits in child development preferred.
• Previous experience supervising children.
• Sufficient training to perform tasks assigned by the Principal and Extended Care Manager.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during indoor and outdoor activities.
• Assist with homework and enrichment activities.
• Prepare and serve snacks following health guidelines.
• Maintain attendance records and sign-in/out procedures.
• Communicate with families and staff.
• Uphold school safety, behavior, and child-protection policies.
• Assist in creating a safe, caring environment for TK–8th grade.
• Support in coordinating activities and preparing materials.
