Job summary

The Diocese of San Jose seeks an Extended Care Assistant to support TK/K through 8th grade in the before- and after-school program under the Principal and Extended Care Manager. You will supervise children, help prepare activities, address student needs, and create an atmosphere where students stay active and engaged.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; coursework in child development preferred.
• Experience supervising children in care programs is desirable.
• First Aid and CPR certification is required or preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
• Willingness to work before/after school hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing the Extended Care program as directed by the Principal and/or Extended Care Manager.
• Maintain a safe, healthy environment per school standards.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
• Conduct attendance, headcount, pick-up and emergency procedures.
• Prepare program materials as needed.
• Maintain accurate records per policy.
• Collaborate with peers to support program effectiveness.
• Help clean and organize the room and equipment daily.
• Maintain confidentiality of student and institutional information.
