Job summary

Synapse School in Menlo Park, CA, seeks a creative and enthusiastic caregiver for the After Care Program. The After Care Team Member will work with faculty and the Director of Auxiliary Programs to monitor activities and ensure a safe, engaging environment after school.

Hours are 3:30pm-6:00pm Mon-Thu and 2:30pm-6:00pm Fri, with potential adjustments to 4:00-6:00pm Mon-Thu and 3:00-6:00pm Fri. Must be 16+, have transport, strong communication, CPR/First Aid certification, and a commitment to SEL

Qualifications

Must be 16 years of age or older.
Must have transportation to and from Synapse.
Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to pass a background check and proof of immunizations.
Must have and maintain CPR / First Aid certification.
Previous experience working with elementary and/or middle school-aged children is preferred.

Responsibilities

Nurture a safe, respectful, inclusive, and positive environment for children and families; supervise students at all times.
Establish authentic connections with students, families, schools, communities, and staff; model professional conduct.
Guide students through activities and provide homework assistance as needed.
Support after-school enrichment programs for elementary grades.
Assist with related administrative tasks as needed.
