Job summary

Fort Worth Country Day is seeking an After School Program Care Specialist for the SOAR program. The role involves organizing daily activities, supervising students, and ensuring safety from 2:45 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with extended hours on early-dismissal days.

You will work under the SOAR Extended-Care Manager in a supportive, enriching environment. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, experience with youth, and completion of First Aid and CPR within three months.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Experience working with youth
• Must pass criminal background check and drug screening
• Positive verification of references

Responsibilities

• Monitor children to ensure health and safety; perform First Aid and CPR as needed
• Assist in designing and implementing activities to enrich attendees
• Maintain a positive environment for SOAR participants
• Demonstrate and assist with art projects
• Oversee students in physical activities like basketball and running
• Interact with children to build self-esteem and provide guidance
• Support program standards and resolve student disputes
• Set up and maintain program activity areas
• Assist with check-in/check-out procedures and safe drop-off/pick-up
• Coordinate with enrichment instructors for safe student transitions
• Liaise between parents, staff, and school personnel
• Participate in SOAR training and staff meetings
• Perform related duties as assigned by the SOAR Extended-Care Manager
