Job summary

YMCA Beacons School Success Lead is a part-time role supporting after-school and summer enrichment for K-12 youth at Beacons centers in the Minneapolis area. Lead staff mentor and plan youth activities, ensuring safe, engaging programs aligned with YMCA values.

The position reports to the Sr. Coordinator or Program Director and requires 18+ with relevant experience; CPR/First Aid/AED certifications within 30 days. A free Y membership and growth opportunities are included.

Qualifications

Experience and/or education in youth studies, child development, human relations, communication, or recreational programs.

Responsibilities

Plan, develop and implement enrichment curriculum and program activities with a group of young people.
Provide work direction to program staff and volunteers while on duty.
Evaluate the program on a continuous basis and recommend needed changes to the Beacons School Success Sr. Coordinator and/or Program Director.
Ensure that the center and classroom spaces are kept clean and organized.
Perform administrative activities to support the program, including collecting daily attendance.
Assist in the promotion of the program including recruiting young people to program, communication to families and school staff.
