Job summary

Arts for Learning Maryland is seeking an After-School Enrichment Classroom Lead at Wildwood ES/MS in Maryland. The role supervises students before, during, and after the program, ensuring safety and creating a positive learning environment Monday through Friday.

The position is temporary and non-exempt with a $40 per hour pay rate. Training and program dates are provided, and staff must support families and collaborate with Teaching Artists.

Qualifications

• Willingness to be flexible in service to the After-School Enrichment program.
• Passion for students and ability to build meaningful relationships.
• Interest in arts integration and enrichment.
• Ability to contact parents regularly using a school landline or personal cell.
• Ability to attend and engage in all required training and program dates.
• Ability to create inclusive environments reflecting diverse identities.
• Commitment to partnering with families in education.
• Must be able to stand, walk, and supervise throughout the program day; lift up to 20 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Establish a positive and productive after school climate for all students.
• Build relationships with students, staff, and parents to create a positive, supportive community within the classroom and site.
• Attend all professional development and planning meetings as instructed by Arts for Learning.
• Complete all required paperwork as assigned by the Site Lead
• Engage parents, guardians, and families effectively, including responding to family inquiries in a timely manner, and contacting parents/guardians to provide progress updates, share challenges, etc.
• Collaborate with and provide support for various partners and external stakeholders.
• Follow and uphold all site health and safety procedures.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
• Support their Teaching Artist partner and their students in daily Arts enrichment activities as taught by Teaching Artists.
• Provide one-on-one instruction and support to students as needed.
• Support Teaching Artists as they facilitate their program in the Classroom.
