Job summary

Kidcreate Studios is seeking an enthusiastic After School Program Instructor to join our team. This part-time role runs afternoons, 3-6 pm, at elementary schools in the Gaithersburg and Rockville area, Monday through Friday during the school year.

You will supervise students, lead age-appropriate arts, science and enrichment activities, maintain a safe classroom, and communicate with families and staff. Candidates with a background in education or child development and CPR/First Aid willingness

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or a degree in education, child development, recreation, or a related field is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead groups of children and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Dependable, patient, energetic, and responsible.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred or willingness to obtain certification.
• Must meet applicable background-check and child-safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage students during the after-school program.
• Plan and lead educational, recreational, arts and science enrichment activities.
• Create a welcoming and inclusive environment where students feel safe and encouraged.
• Maintain appropriate classroom and behavior-management expectations.
• Communicate professionally with parents, guardians, teachers, and program staff.
• Monitor student safety and follow all program policies and procedures.
• Prepare and organize materials and activity areas.
• Participate in special events, themed activities, and program projects.
• Complete required attendance, incident, and other program documentation.
