Job summary

Nashville General Hospital - Our Kids Center is seeking a PRN Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to perform pediatric forensic evaluations and provide after-hours coverage, including weekends. You will triage calls and work within a multidisciplinary team to protect children.

The role requires pediatric APN/PA credentials with a master’s degree and Tennessee licensure. Experience in pediatric forensic exams is preferred, and reports or testimony may be required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited NP or PA program.
• Current TN Advanced Practice Nursing or Physician Assistant license.
• Pediatric sexual assault exam experience preferred.
• One year pediatric APN/PA experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide after-hours coverage: minimum 8 shifts per month, some weekends.
• Triage calls from DCS, LE, and medical providers.
• Perform pediatric forensic evaluations birth to 15 years old with acute concerns.
• Provide daytime clinic coverage at least one weekday per month after training.
• Collaborate with law enforcement and child services during investigations.
• Write reports and provide court testimony when required.
• Adapt interactions to developmental, cultural, and family needs.
• Participate in monthly quality assurance peer review.
