Job summary

Wellstar Medical Group, LLC is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Pediatrics After Hours team in Georgia. The role focuses on high-quality, patient-centered care for pediatric patients with acute illnesses and minor injuries during evenings, weekends, and holidays, collaborating with pediatricians and staff to ensure timely access to care.

Qualifications

• Must hold NP or PA credential with applicable state licensure.
• Board certification in pediatrics (PNP/FNP) or PA certification.
• DEA registration and BLS/PALS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat pediatric patients with acute illnesses, minor injuries, and urgent medical concerns.
• Perform comprehensive history and physical examinations.
• Order, interpret, and manage diagnostic testing and imaging.
• Develop and implement treatment plans with supervising physicians.
• Prescribe medications and therapies per state regulations and policies.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
• Coordinate referrals to emergency departments, specialists, or hospital services when needed.
• Document encounters accurately in the EMR.
• Engage in quality improvement and ensure safety standards.
