Job summary

Mission Healthcare is seeking an After-Hours Director of Clinical Services to provide leadership and operational oversight during non-business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. This role supports on-call staff, ensures quality patient care, and ensures compliance with hospice regulations.

The position is hybrid, with responsibilities spanning clinical leadership, triage oversight, and performance improvement.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 5 years of hospice, home health, palliative care, or related clinical experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of hospice regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• BSN preferred; MSN desirable.
• Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse (CHPN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide after-hours clinical leadership and support to on-call nursing staff.
• Serve as the primary escalation resource for complex patient care situations.
• Assist with symptom management, end-of-life care interventions, and clinical decision-making.
• Support adherence to hospice philosophy and patient-centered care.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacies, and interdisciplinary team members as needed.
