Job summary

United Way Miami is hiring an After Care Aide to join our team. Under teacher supervision, you will support a safe, nurturing environment that promotes children’s social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth.

You will help implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum in line with UWM and NAEYC guidelines. The role partners with a teacher to engage families, maintain safety, and contribute to daily activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required and Florida DCF 45-hour child care training must be completed.
• Experience working with children is preferred.
• Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interact with children in a caring, respectful manner and model positive behavior.
• Assist with implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum under teacher supervision.
• Communicate daily with parents and visitors, and participate in conferences and events.
• Supervise children, maintain safety and child-to-staff ratios, and complete required paperwork.
• Maintain confidentiality and participate in meetings and training.
• Collaborate with the teaching team and center staff on daily responsibilities.
• Report significant injuries or incidents to the supervisor and follow established procedures.
