Job summary

Community Teamwork is seeking an Individual Child Aide to support children aged 5-13 in our after-school program. You will provide one-on-one support, foster safe, engaging activities, and collaborate with school-age and clinical staff to ensure positive outcomes.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, experience with school-age children, and the ability to work 2-6 PM on most weekdays. Background checks and immunization proof are required; bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with school-age children in an educational or childcare setting is required.
• Ability to engage and connect positively with individual children.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to follow directions.
• Ability to pass background check which includes fingerprinting.
• Recent physical exam and proof of MMR vaccination are required.
• Availability from 2-6 PM on most weekdays is essential.

Responsibilities

• Offer one-on-one support to children aged 5-13 with special emotional or learning needs within the after-school program.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with children through relationship-building techniques.
• Assist children in all program routines, including peer interactions and group activities.
• Follow supervisor guidance on child behavior management.
• Implement interventions using sensory and emotional support tools and respond to behaviors.
• Observe and provide feedback on intervention effectiveness to support self-regulation.
• Ensure child safety at all times, manage unsafe behaviors, and report concerns.
• Communicate with parents at shift end, in coordination with Site Manager.
• Report concerns to the School Age Inclusion Specialist.
• Collaborate with School Age and clinical staff.
• Participate in staff meetings and required training.
