Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Systems Engineer with an emphasis on the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM) to support NASIC/NSIC. You will work on space, counter‑space, and intelligence missions, developing simulations and analyses in the AFSIM framework.

You will use Python, C++, and related languages to extend capabilities, and collaborate with DoD stakeholders in an Agile team. Domestic travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship with an active TS/SCI clearance is required.
• Experience with object‑oriented programming (C++/Python).
• Experience on software or modeling projects in a team environment.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast‑paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate, and maintain models and simulations in the AFSIM framework for mission analysis.
• Design and implement AFSIM scenarios and plugins, including detection/identification and system‑of‑systems behaviors.
• Collaborate with modeling, software, and DoD stakeholders to translate requirements into architectures; validate and document models and results.
• Extend AFSIM capabilities using Python and C++, interfacing with external tools and data sources.
• Contribute to technical documentation communicating assumptions, limitations, and results.
• Work in an Agile team using Jira to plan, track, and deliver capabilities incrementally.
• Incorporate lessons learned and customer feedback to improve the modeling environment.
