Job summary

nou Systems, Inc. is seeking a mid-level AFSIM developer to join our Engineering Services Division in the National Capital Region. You will model platforms, sensors, weapons, and C2 systems in AFSIM, build scenarios, run simulations, and post-process results to support mission analyses.

You will develop MATLAB and Python scripts to automate workflow, validate models, and collaborate with analysts, SMEs, and customers to translate requirements into simulation capabilities. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical field
• 4–7 years of experience in modeling and simulation, operations analysis, or software development
• Hands-on experience developing models or scenarios in AFSIM
• Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python for data analysis, visualization, and automation
• Experience with version control (Git) in a team environment
• Active Secret security clearance
• U.S. citizenship

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain AFSIM models of platforms, sensors, weapons, communications, and command-and-control systems
• Build scenarios and behavior logic to represent realistic operational tactics
• Conduct mission-level and engagement-level analysis
• Run batch simulations, then post-process, analyze, and visualize output data to support studies and trade analyses
• Develop MATLAB and/or Python scripts and tools to automate scenario generation, Monte Carlo runs, and data reduction workflows
• Prototype algorithms in MATLAB or Python before implementing them in AFSIM
• Perform verification and validation of models, and document assumptions, data sources, results, and findings
• Collaborate with analysts, subject matter experts, and customers to translate operational requirements into simulation capabilities
• Independently own assigned development tasks from design through delivery while working alongside senior engineers and analysts, and contribute to code reviews and configuration management
