Job summary

Leidos is seeking an AFSIM Modeling and Simulation Engineer with an active TS/SCI clearance at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. The role blends deep technical expertise with collaboration among government personnel, contractors, and an interdisciplinary team to model and simulate advanced space, radar, aircraft, and missile systems.

You will develop and integrate system models into a large-scale AFSIM environment, create representations for AF/DoD use, and test extensions with CMake/Visual Studio.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE/EE with 8+ years of experience or Master’s with 6+ years; equivalent accepted.
• Proficiency in C++ and Modeling & Simulation techniques.
• Experience with CMake and Visual Studio for AFSIM extensions and plug-ins.
• Experience with AFSIM including extensions and plug-ins.
• Strong English writing and briefing skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills in a highly technical, collaborative environment.
• Ability to work independently under tight deadlines in a mixed government-contractor setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate system models (satellites, radars, aircraft, missiles, C2) into large AFSIM.
• Collaborate with government and contractor staff in a cross-functional team.
• Create AFSIM representations of space and ground systems for AF/DoD use.
• Apply engineering judgment to address intelligence gaps and model real-world systems.
• Use CI/CD tools to test and evaluate AFSIM models prior to delivery.
• Prepare documentation, analytic reports, and multimedia products to support mission objectives.
