Job summary

nou Systems, Inc. is a rapidly growing technology company supporting mission engineering, missile defense, cybersecurity, and space control. We seek a mid-level AFSIM developer to join the Engineering Services Division in the National Capital Region and help close capability gaps for warfighters.

You will develop and validate simulation models, build scenarios, and automate data workflows using MATLAB and Python, collaborating with analysts and customers to deliver high-impact analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Engineering, Physics, CS, Math, Stats, or related field.
• 4–7 years in modeling/simulation, operations analysis, or software development.
• Hands-on AFSIM modeling experience.
• Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python for data tasks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain AFSIM models of platforms, sensors, weapons, comms, and C2 systems.
• Build scenarios and behavior logic for realistic operations.
• Conduct mission-level and engagement-level analyses.
• Run batch simulations, post-process and visualize outputs for studies.
• Develop MATLAB/Python scripts to automate scenarios and Monte Carlo runs.
• Prototype algorithms in MATLAB or Python before implementing in AFSIM.
• Verify/validate models and document data sources and findings.
• Collaborate with analysts and customers to translate requirements into simulations.
• Own tasks from design through delivery; participate in code reviews.
