Job summary

VTG Defense seeks an experienced AFMSIM Developer to provide Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis support to DoD programs. You will design, develop, integrate, and sustain AFSIM-based capabilities while implementing secure software lifecycle practices and CSSLP policy compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related technical discipline.
• 3–5+ years of professional software development experience, including C++ and OO design on Windows or Linux.
• 2+ years of experience developing/integrating/using AFSIM for DoD/IC programs.
• Active CSSLP certification recognized under DoD 8140/8570.
• Experience with secure coding practices and software assurance across the lifecycle.
• Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity and RMF processes.
• Ability to obtain/maintain DoD Secret clearance (active preferred).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and integrate AFSIM models, components, and scenarios for government analysis.
• Implement secure software lifecycle practices aligned with CSSLP domains and DoD policies.
• Develop and maintain C++ AFSIM plug-ins, simulations, and interfaces to external tools.
• Apply Python/Lua scripting to configure scenarios, behaviors, and batch runs.
• Conduct code reviews, static analysis, and remediation for secure coding compliance.
• Support configuration management, CI/CD pipelines, and test automation for AFSIM capabilities.
• Collaborate with government engineers and contractors to translate requirements into capabilities.
• Prepare technical docs, test reports, and briefing materials per contract deliverables (CDRLs).
• Provide input to proposals, estimates, and design reviews for MS&A task orders.
