Job summary

Nou Systems Inc. is seeking a mid-level AFSIM Developer to join our Engineering Services Division in the National Capital Region. The role is on-site / hybrid in the Alexandria, VA area and requires an active Secret clearance.

You will develop AFSIM models, build scenarios, run simulations, and automate workflows using MATLAB/Python. qualified candidates have 4–7 years in modeling, strong MATLAB/Python skills, and experience with Git. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field related to modeling, analysis, or software development.
• 4–7 years in modeling and simulation, operations analysis, or software development.
• Hands-on experience developing models or scenarios in AFSIM.
• Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python for data analysis, visualization, and automation.
• Familiarity with object-oriented design, debugging, and build tools.
• Experience with version control (Git) in a team environment.
• Active Secret security clearance and U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain AFSIM models of platforms, sensors, weapons, communications, and C2 systems.
• Build scenarios and behavior logic to represent realistic operations.
• Conduct mission-level and engagement-level analysis.
• Run batch simulations, post-process, analyze, and visualize outputs.
• Develop MATLAB and/or Python scripts for automation and data reduction.
• Prototype algorithms in MATLAB or Python before implementing in AFSIM.
• Perform verification and validation and document data sources, results, and findings.
• Collaborate with analysts and customers to translate requirements into simulation capabilities.
• Own development tasks from design to delivery, supporting code reviews and CM.
