Job summary

The College of Lake County in Grayslake, IL, is seeking an African-American Student Outreach & Programs Coordinator to lead co-curricular programs, multicultural experiences, and student leadership development. This role focuses on fostering belonging and success for African American students on campus.

Under the Director of Student Activities and Inclusion, you will plan events, workshops, and seminars aligned with DEI principles, translate theory into practice, and collaborate across units to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Two years of experience in student affairs or a related field in higher education.
• Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook and Teams) and graphic design software.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Project & process management to plan and promote programs.
• Coordinate multicultural student clubs and collaborations with classroom instruction.
• Develop and deliver programming for African American students (e.g., Black History Month, Juneteenth events).
• Assess programs and report on needs, progress, and gaps for marginalized students.
• Coordinate outreach with county groups to build support networks.
