Normandale Community College in Bloomington, MN is seeking a Black, African, and African American Student Advocate and Admissions Representative to lead recruitment and outreach, with the goal of enrolling new Black and African American students. The role acts as the primary link between prospective students and the college in all enrollment matters.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in higher education outreach or recruitment.
• Ability to write and speak in a second language such as Arabic, Somali, Amharic, Swahili, or French.
• Knowledge of Black/African American communities in the Twin Cities area.
• Knowledge of culturally responsive recruitment practices.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to conduct public relations through speaking, writing and relationships.

Responsibilities

• Participate in activities that move students through the enrollment funnel.
• Inform prospective students and families of admission requirements and opportunities.
• Provide presentations about the college and represent the college at events.
• Develop relationships with counselors and community leaders and maintain follow-up contact.
• Arrange campus visits, tours, and outreach events.
• Conduct, prepare, and present research related to the position.
• Contribute to equity and inclusive culture in enrollment efforts.
