Job summary

A regional college is seeking a Graduate Assistant for Student Belonging to foster mentoring relationships, plan multicultural-oriented events, and enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion across campus. Responsibilities include assisting in student engagement initiatives, managing Multicultural Peer Educators, and leading identity-oriented programs. Candidates must be accepted into a graduate program and possess strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills. This role offers approximately 20 hours of work per week during the academic year.

Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills are required.
  • Strong understanding of and commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, and belonging practices.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Coordinator(s) of Student Engagement & Belonging with various Orientation and Welcome Week-related initiatives.
  • Manage the recruitment, training, and operations of Multicultural Peer Educators.
  • Lead various identity-oriented programs in collaboration with various campus partners.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of the annual Sankofa Experience spring break trip.
  • Oversee space management of the Multicultural Student Center.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
