Job summary

Thurston County Government seeks an Affordable Housing Program Manager within the Affordable Housing & Homeless Response Division. The role requires coordinating with elected officials, managing grant programs, and developing strategies to address local housing challenges.

The ideal candidate has experience with public policy development, staff supervision, and budget oversight, in a politically engaged environment across Thurston County.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public administration, public policy, humanities, a social science field, or closely related field.
• Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience related to public program and policy development or in a closely related field.
• Demonstrated competence in supervising personnel involved in program implementation and budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff within the division.
• Administer funding sources including CDBG, HOME, and other local funds.
• Serve as staff liaison to the Regional Housing Council and related boards.
• Engage in underwriting, developing contract documents, and monitoring projects.
• Respond during public health emergencies as required.
