Job summary

Astronics Connectivity Systems and Certification seeks a Production Supervisor to lead a high‑performing wire harness shop, scheduling daily work, managing capacity, and ensuring flight‑critical assemblies meet quality and delivery targets.

The role requires hands‑on leadership in ARINC connector fabrication, strict adherence to aerospace specs, and collaboration with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Procurement, and Management to sustain production growth at the Waukegan facility.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of production leadership experience supervising wire harness/cable assembly in aerospace/defense/aviation.
• Hands-on routing, crimping, shielding, and ARINC connector experience (ARINC 404, 600 series).
• Ability to read, interpret, and teach complex engineering drawings and wire schematics.
• Strong knowledge of aerospace quality systems: AS9100 and ISO 9001.
• Proven ability to motivate, influence, and resolve conflicts in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, and ERP/MES systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production activities in wire harness and cable assembly shop.
• Forecast manpower needs and schedule work to scale with growth.
• Drive a culture of accountability, coaching, and high morale.
• Monitor quality and on-time delivery; address root causes and reduce scrap.
• Maintain 5S and Lean practices to optimize throughput and layouts.
• Ensure compliance with aerospace auditing standards and customer specs.
