Job summary

Amentum Space Exploration Division (ASED) is seeking a welding engineer to support NASA MSFC ESSCA projects. The role focuses on manufacturing large aluminum aerospace structures using fusion welding and friction stir welding processes.

The candidate will develop welding techniques, lead development projects, and work with NASA engineers and technicians. On-site at MSFC in Huntsville, AL with opportunities for professional growth and education reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or MS with related experience.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate customer-owned vehicles.
• Experience with welding aluminum aerospace structures is desirable.
• Ability to obtain security clearance as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop welding techniques, procedures, and equipment applications for aluminum aerospace structures.
• Conduct R&D to develop or improve welding processes and equipment.
• Prepare technical reports from R&D activities.
• Establish welding procedures guiding production and welding personnel.
• Lead welding development projects and coordinate with customers.
