Job summary

ALVEST EQUIPMENT SERVICES in Elkhart, IN seeks a welder for aerospace ground support equipment overhaul. You will join a team that interprets drawings, performs various welding operations, and ensures weld quality meets customer specs and safety standards.

Requirements include AWS certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months), a high school diploma, and 3 years of welding experience. AS9100 adherence and inspection experience are valued. AES offers safety and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must pass AWS certification or pass within first 6 months.
• High School diploma or equivalent – documentation required.
• Must demonstrate tube welding at 45, 60 and 90 degree angles.
• Desire 3 years' welding experience.
• Adhere to AS9100 and other quality standards.
• Experience with in-process visual and FPI inspection is a plus.
• AES USA is a safety sensitive manufacturer; pre-employment background check and drug screening required.

Responsibilities

• Apply all types of welding processes to various parts, assemblies, and components; welds in all positions.
• Interpret drawings, blueprints, and planning; set up and perform welding operations.
• Operate welding equipment in the facility per certifications and customer requirements.
• Visually and dimensionally check welds with precision measuring instruments.
• Maintain knowledge of welding practices and materials within certification scope.
• Be a flexible team player and participate in problem solving and continuous improvements; other duties as assigned.
• Adhere to all quality and safety standards.
