Job summary

ULA, the world\'s most experienced space launch company, seeks a Weld Engineer to specialize in metallic materials and welding processes for aerospace structures. You will analyze materials, develop welding procedures, and ensure design quality in collaboration with teams.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Weld Engineering or related field, knowledge of aluminum and stainless steel welding, blueprints reading, and willingness to work extended hours to support testing and production.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in weld engineering, Weld Engineering Technology, or related field.
  • Familiarity with weld engineering and welding aluminum alloys and stainless steel with varying thicknesses.
  • Knowledge of military and aerospace industry standards related to welding and manufacturing operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, and develop materials and welding processes for aerospace structures.
  • Develop material properties and design allowables for welding applications.
  • Review subcontractor material processing procedures for welding operations.
  • Develop weld schedules/programs for complex machinery and review weld data for trends.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, project managers, facilities and maintenance on equipment and processes.
  • Work extended hours/weekends as needed to support testing and production.
