Job summary

Stratolaunch in Mojave, CA is seeking a Vehicle & Systems Fabrication Manager to lead mechanical assembly, structural integration, metal fabrication, machining, and production across prototype and production environments.

You will mentor production teams, drive schedule adherence, improve quality and efficiency, and ensure safety, traceability, and compliance with aerospace standards while partnering with program teams to deliver on schedule.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in aerospace/defense/advanced manufacturing
• At least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical assembly, structural integration, metal fabrication, machining, and production processes
• Proven track record leading, mentoring, and developing production teams
• Experience with MES systems, production documentation, and reporting tools
• Lean/Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement methodologies

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical assembly, integration, composite fabrication, metal fabrication, machining, and production operations for prototype and structured production builds
• Supervise, mentor, and develop production team members with focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement
• Collaborate with Production Control, Program teams, and departments to execute detailed production schedules
• Support process improvements using MES and data analytics to enhance safety, repeatability, and throughput
• Monitor labor and material costs and ensure alignment with cost targets
• Maintain compliance with aerospace standards and company quality requirements across all activities
• Assist capacity planning and workforce development to support current and future programs
• Report production metrics to drive accountability and improvement
