Job summary

Saab West Lafayette, IN, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician for the 3rd shift to support tooling and manufacturing technology on the T-7A Redhawk program. You will ensure tooling is available, drive improvements, and serve as a link between tooling engineers and production.

Responsibilities include auditing tools, supporting tooling studies, conducting performance tests, resolving issues, and proposing new tooling designs while aligning with Saab’s core values.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in STEM or 2+ years of comparable work experience required.
• 2+ years in aircraft manufacturing, including structural assembly or systems installations, is a plus.
• Tooling selection/application experience in manufacturing settings.
• Basic tooling design and problem-solving for tooling issues.
• Proficient with computer reporting, including Excel.
• GD&T understanding is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Audit and maintain proper tools within each assembly area.
• Provide support for tooling studies and application.
• Conduct performance testing for tooling and provide analysis reports.
• Investigate and resolve tooling issues.
• Propose new tooling solutions and assist installation of tooling projects.
• Assist assemblers with safe use of tools.
• Ensure tooling compliance to Aerospace standards.
• Work extended hours and weekend overtime when required.
