Saab West Lafayette is hiring a Manufacturing Engineering Technician for the 3rd shift to ensure tooling readiness in the production system and lead tooling improvements.

You will support tooling studies, perform performance testing, and collaborate with the tooling engineer and production team to maintain compliance with aerospace standards while focusing on safety and quality during long shifts.

Qualifikationen

• Associate degree in STEM or 2+ years related experience.
• 2+ years of technical/aircraft manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Tooling selection and application experience in manufacturing.
• Basic tooling design knowledge required.
• Troubleshooting tooling issues and applying countermeasures.
• Tooling performance testing and reporting.
• Ability to operate machining and measurement equipment.
• Strong organizational skills and aerospace quality awareness.
• Understanding of GD&T is required.
• Proficiency with Excel reporting and data entry.
• CAD experience is a plus.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and collaborative.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends when needed.

Aufgaben

• Audit and maintain proper tools in each assembly area.
• Support tooling studies and applications.
• Conduct tooling performance testing and provide analysis reports.
• Investigate and resolve tooling issues.
• Propose new tooling solutions and assist with capital tool projects.
• Assist assemblers with safe tool usage and compliance to standards.
• Ensure tooling compliance with aerospace requirements.
• Contribute to Saab values and teamwork.
