Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Tooling Engineer to support tooling fabrication and process improvements at our Rocket Center, West Virginia site. The position requires coordinating tool design with internal and external customers and ensuring manufacturability and cost objectives are met.

Primary duties include leading design-to-fabrication processes, performing tolerance analyses, and conducting root-cause investigations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's STEM degree required with 2+ years in tooling fabrication or production
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
• Experience with tooling design, tooling fabrication, and manufacturability considerations

Responsibilities

• Coordinate design and fabrication requirements for tools and fixtures with customers
• Perform tolerance analysis to ensure form/fit/function
• Conduct root cause failure investigations and implement corrective actions
• Develop and evaluate process improvements
• Manage all phases of a tooling project from design to validation
• Interface with review team to ensure customer satisfaction with design
• Work with manufacturing to achieve quality, delivery, and cost objectives
• Develop tooling concepts and improve manufacturing processes
