Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Tooling Engineer 2 for an on-site role at Rocket Center, WV. You will coordinate design and fabrication of tools and fixtures, perform tolerance analyses, and lead root-cause investigations to ensure manufacturability and quality.

The position requires a STEM degree (Bachelor’s with 2 years or Master’s with 0) and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance, plus experience with NX/CAD and MS Office. Collaboration with customers and vendors is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s STEM degree with 2 years of experience or a Master’s STEM degree with 0 years.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Direct Aerospace Tooling experience.
• Direct experience with NX or CAD systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate design and fabrication requirements for tools and fixtures with customers.
• Perform tolerance analysis to ensure form/fit/function.
• Conduct root cause failure investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and evaluate process improvements.
• Assist Product Development Team with new designs for manufacturability.
• Manage all phases of projects: design, document, fabricate, assemble and validate.
• Interface with review team to ensure customer satisfaction with design.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to meet program quality, delivery and cost objectives.
• Develop tooling concepts and improve manufacturing processes.
• Monitor cost and schedule, review drawings for manufacturability.
• Support vendors during fabrication.
