Job summary

Global Technical Talent, an Inc. 5000 Company, seeks a Manufacturing Tooling Engineer to design simple tooling for New Glenn. You will deliver CAD models and drawings, lead tooling projects end-to-end, and ensure compliance with ASME Y14.5 while collaborating with manufacturing and integration teams to optimize safety, cost, and quality.

The role is onsite in Merritt Island, FL, with a 12-month contract. A BS in Engineering plus 3+ years of manufacturing experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with tooling design, fabrication, and procurement.
• Proven experience with CAD-based design software for modeling and drafting.
• Experience with Creo Parametric and Windchill CAD/PDM systems.
• Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals related to mechanical design and manufacturing, including GD&T.
• Ability to create free-body diagrams, identify load cases, and perform basic hand calculations for common failure modes.

Responsibilities

• Design, create, and release CAD models and drawings for simple tooling per ASME Y14.5 standards.
• Solve design challenges with fixtures, material-handling equipment, rotisseries, test fixtures, weldments, environmental chambers.
• Manage tooling projects from concept through commissioning, including vendor selection and fabrication.
• Define procurement priorities and communicate them to the team.
• Support repair and rework activities; perform root cause analyses and corrective actions.
• Develop material handling and packaging requirements to protect hardware.
• Collaborate with designers and engineers to optimize safety, cost, and reliability.
