Qualifications

• A STEM degree and minimum of 10 years of tooling design experience.
• 10 years of experience using 3D modeling CAD software.
• Experience working with CAD assemblies.
• Strong understanding of Engineering Drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities for design solutions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft O365 suite.
• US citizenship is required to access and handle sensitive data for government/military programs.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new tools, tooling, gauging, and other tooling aids to support production operations.
• Create designs and drawings using CAD software.
• Analyze tooling performance and adjust designs accordingly to improve performance.
• Design tooling for CNC machining, turning, and additive manufacturing methods.
• Review technical manufacturing specifications to determine tooling requirements.
• Design for ergonomics when appropriate.
• Collaborate with team members to develop design solutions for production support.
• Evaluate tooling/gauge/aid performance to determine for-use worthiness.
• Investigates and troubleshoots process issues.
• Provides technical support to operations.
• Consult with outside engineering entities when required to resolve issues.
• Provide technical support and guidance to internal and external vendors during tooling fabrication.
• Analyze process data in support of continuous improvement.
