Galaxy Tool Corporation in Winfield, KS is seeking a Design Engineer to design, review, and optimize tooling and fixtures for aerospace and contract manufacturing. You will ensure manufacturability, quality, and production requirements while collaborating with customers, engineering, and production teams.

The role involves creating detailed 2D drawings and 3D models, modifying designs for manufacturability, and supporting project execution with documentation and cross-functional communication.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
• At least 3 years in design, aerospace machining, or related field.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Proficient in CAD; CATIA preferred.
• Strong math, communication, and organizational skills.

Mansioni

• Evaluate job feasibility and support quoting for potential work
• Design tooling and fixtures, including layup tools, mill fixtures, lifting fixtures, and proof load fixtures
• Collaborate with customers to optimize designs and meet requirements
• Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for internal and customer use
• Modify customer designs to improve manufacturability and resolve interferences
• Develop documentation such as work instructions and extraction data
• Provide technical support to toolmakers and production teams
• Review work to ensure quality and alignment with project goals
