Job summary

RTX seeks motivated engineering students for a role focusing on lubrication and thermal management systems for gas turbines. You will analyze oil systems with 1D flow modeling, review engine/test data, and help design validation plans while coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable cooling and lubrication in flight-critical engines.

The position emphasizes independent problem solving, system-level thinking, and hands-on testing experience in a dynamic aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in STEM degree program and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
• Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Using 1D flow modeling to analyze and design gas turbine lubrication and thermal management systems
• Use field data to monitor fleet health and support customers
• Specifying engine validation test plans, reviewing engine and test rig data, and matching analytical models to engine data
• Optimizing oil system architecture to ensure safety of flight, provide adequate cooling and lubrication oil flow and pressure to mechanical components, oil conditioning - includes storage, deaeration/deoiling, filtration and filter life, minimization of oil degradation, and cooling, and contain oil within system boundaries
• Operating independently to develop system level solutions
