Job summary

RTX is offering an internship/co-op in East Hartford, CT focused on commercial lubrication and thermal management systems for gas turbine engines. The role emphasizes 1D flow modeling, data analysis from field data, and engine test planning within a multidisciplinary team.

You will learn how to design and validate oil systems, optimize lubrication architecture, and work closely with engine, air, and performance groups to understand the full engine lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced STEM degree and actively enrolled through the internship/co-op session.
• Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Using 1D flow modeling to analyze and design gas turbine lubrication and thermal management systems.
• Use field data to monitor fleet health and support customers.
• Specifying engine validation test plans, reviewing engine and test rig data, and matching analytical models to engine data.
• Optimizing oil system architecture to ensure safety of flight, provide adequate cooling and lubrication oil flow and pressure to mechanical components, oil conditioning, filtration and filter life, minimization of oil degradation, and containment of oil within system boundaries.
• Operating independently to develop system level solutions.
