Job summary

Barnes Aerospace MRO division is seeking a TIG Welder to join our Ohio operation. The ideal candidate has a solid background in TIG welding on thin material, reads drawings and templates, and contributes to process improvements to grow the business.

Responsibilities include welding aircraft components in thin sheets (.015–.120 in), following inspection and final testing procedures, and completing paperwork to track parts.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of TIG welding experience in a production or repair shop, preferably aerospace.
  • Experience welding exotic metals.
  • Ability to read and interpret operation sheets and follow complex instructions.
  • Strong math skills including fractions, decimals, and percentages.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English with team and supervision.
  • Lift up to 40 lbs occasionally without restrictions.
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S.
  • FAA/DOT regulatory awareness is required.

Responsibilities

  • Experience welding aircraft component parts ranging in thickness from .015 to .120 inches.
  • Work from part drawings, sketches, templates, and patterns.
  • Work is subject to process and final inspection and testing.
  • Complete necessary paperwork to track parts through process.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Perform repetitive welding operations on standard weldments following prescribed procedures.
