Job summary

Barnes Aerospace is seeking a TIG Welder for its MRO division in Kentucky. The ideal candidate will bring solid experience welding thin material and the ability to improve processes while following safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include welding aircraft components from .015–.120 inches, reading drawings and operation sheets, and completing paperwork to track parts through the process. FAA/DOT compliance is mandatory.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of TIG welding experience in production or repair shop.
• Experience welding exotic metals or aerospace components is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret operation sheets and follow complex instructions.
• Ability to perform basic math including fractions, decimals and percentages.
• Must communicate in English with coworkers and supervision.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Weld aircraft component parts with thickness ranging from .015 to .120.
• Work from part drawings, sketches, templates and patterns.
• Adhere to process steps, inspections and testing.
• Complete paperwork to track parts through the process.
• Perform repetitive welding operations on standard weldments.
