Howmet Aerospace is seeking a Manual Welder for 1st shift in Manchester, CT (On-site). You will weld aerospace tubes, sheet metal, and engine components to exacting specs, while adhering to safety and industry codes. The role requires 2+ years of welding experience and the ability to pass TIG assessments.

Competenze

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Able to pass TIG welding assessment and become certified on required alloy/joint combinations.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and teamwork.
• Excellent mathematical and reading skills.

Mansioni

• Set-up and layout jobs using operation sheets and fixtures following welding procedures to TIG weld in all positions including rotary turntables.
• Inspects, maintains, logs preventative maintenance on equipment needed for welding and fabricating.
• Sets up machines according to work instructions to trim, size, form, inspect, and GTAW (TIG weld) material to meet fabrication drawing requirements.
• Solvent cleaning, trimming, sizing, polishing to prepare weld joints for welding.
• Tack welding, fabrication of shop aids and fixtures to assist fabrication and welding.
• Borescope inspection for root side weld defects and visual weld inspection using gauges and calipers.
• Weld inspection for weld size, face, root reinforcement.
• Maintains qualifications for welding certifications.
